Welcome to The University of Nottingham, Malaysia Campus, where i am currently attending a 2+2 years Master of Pharmacy(MPharm) course. This beautiful campus is located in a very rural area named Semenyih, a part of Kajang town in Negeri Sembilan of West Malaysia.

This is what you would see once you enter the school's vincity through its main gate. A pedestrian bridge linking you to the infamous clock tower, which is a symbol of University of Nottingham. They have similar sceneries in its Uk and China Campus; a lake and a clock on a white building.
The lake is huge! its really beautiful with fountains and jogging tracks. Ample trees provide shades to maintain the coolness of the air around the lake. There are some ducks too. I realised the brown ducks are always together in a group (right) and vice versa for the white ducks (left). Racism does apply for ducks too eh?
See what i mean? However, they do enjoy food together. I took this picture while feeding them with biscuits.
I love the fact that this university is always doing maintenance and upgrades to the buildings and facilities. This is a drawing of the Student Association buildng would look like after the renovation. They are going to build another lake behind it and make the area between the new pond and the building a hang out place for students with many round tables with umbrellas. The style is very similar to Coffee bean's outdoor cafe.Inside the Student Association, there are facilities for students, such as cafeteria, book shop, convenience shop, phone shop, IT shop, Photocopy shop, Hair salon, Atm machines, Pool tables, a hall with disco light, a really beautiful, huge dance studio with excellant sound system, as well as 2 TV rooms, each has a complete home theatre system and Astro decorder. This is the block im currently living in. The one the aarow is pointing at on the road. This is my little modest room which i really do adore. It's much better than what i've been imagining. Very well-furnished and satisfying.

That bucket is wear i put my laundry, and the basket is where i put my toilet needs.Do you guys notice there is no door knob? What the hell right? That one is just a lock. This is the picture of my window before i wash my clothes. This is the picture after i washed my clothes. One problem of my room is that the window is facing north, means i do not get any sunshine invading through my window and heat me up. Which is good, i know. I was happy bout it at first till i realised i have problem drying my clothes. This is how i dry my socks! With the fan just above them, they do can dry very fast in this way.Toilets... 2 cubicle on the right for shower, and 2 on the left are with toilet bowls. Here are the sinks, very public-toilet style.I shall now show you something i dislike bout this university in the video below. videoThe clock goes dong-dong-dong every hour, from 8am to 7 pm everyday. It strikes once at 1 o'cock, twice at 2 o'clock and so on. You can bet how annoying it is during 12 noon! Below is a picture of me shutting my ears, not acting cute, ok?Oh IS ppl, do you guys know Roger decided to join Nottingham too? He said im too irresistable!
Ok, im just kidding ~~^^ He stayed at Max's house for his Visa thingy. Can you guys figure out the function of this leveled depressions in the middle of the teaching buildings? I've been really curious about this weird structure when i come across with it in photos from the website. I couldnt figure it out, till someone told me few days ago.Its an open air auditorium! See, that's a photo of me singing with my fans looking at me in awe:P Put your hands up! Put your hands up! Clap to the beat y'all! My loyal fans, came all the way from KK just to watch my performance :P *Yes, I forced them to pose *Me, Shaking hands with my fans. See, how eager Max wants to grab the hand of a superstar??:PHere is my another fan. I invited him on the stage for a short interview.Vui: HI, What' your name?
Kah Yu: Hello Mister Vui(tat's what he ALWAYS calls me), My name is Kah yu.
Vui: Where do you come from?
Kah Yu: Im from Sandakan.
Vui: How many of my albums have u bought?
Kah yu: ..None.
Vui: .....

Then i invited him to sing a song with me.

ok, i know i was being lame, hehehe, but we had fun during this photo shoot.
There's a very nice fountain middle of all the teaching building. Pleasant place to date, honestly.Attempted for a jump shot, but failed. This is the reason i looked so wet in the very first photo of this post.My room is very near to the sports complex, which is equiped with 2 gym rooms, a squash court, 3 badmintons courts, one huge football field, 5 outdoor basketball courts, 2 tennis courts, one futsal court, 1 volleyball court, 1 netball court and a swimming pool.

I didnt take picture of the pool because there were people swimming there. I only took a photo of one of the gym room, coz the other one was occupied by a guy making weird sounds while lifting weights... like "AH.......Eyyyahhh... arghhhh....." This football field supposingly comes with running tracks around it as well. Maybe, they will make it in the coming years.

I received my lab coat and safety specs the other day. So, this is what you guys are going to see after 4 years when you guys visit me at work:PI should have my hair tied, unroll the sleeves, button up to the neck, wear long pants. I should wear shoes too, actually.Hm.... i guess i would know what to wear if there's a costume party:P i'll be a pharmacist! But it would awful to wear like that if the party is full with sexy hotties.I know the coat makes me look so nerdy. So i decided to spice it up little bit. Now, i know what to wear for a costume parties with hot and sexy guys!!:PMaybe, i can wear like this to Mid Valley this weekend! Blehzzzz

i finally started packing after days of urging and reminding from my mum...

im leaving on wed afternoon.

mum said:"ur going to kl, u better not bring sexy sexy clothes ah. no short skirt or pants. better just jeans and t-shit. i think u just need to bring clothes for a week. wast it every weekend, and wear again on week days..."

just bring clothes for a week?! I will die for commiting fashion crimes!!!! Just jeans and t-shirt??:( im not sure bout you guys, but for me, when i wear lously, i cant make myself walking up straight and confident! I look on the ground and slouch when walking.. and speak really soft... coz i dun have confidence at all if i dun wear fancy...-_-

My big luggage. Big enough to pack me in.

Cant i bring all of them with me?

My have-to-be-abandoned skirts. Actually i smuggled 3-4 pieces (not seen in this photo)
Ok, after being filtered, i think i shall bring this lot. i know, from experience, my mum will re-filter again.... hopefully all of them can pass the test!

12:21 PM

When u enter my house from the main door, this is what you will see. ok, i should have tidy up a lil bit before taking this picture.
This tv, is an old one. I been staring at its face for entertainment as long as i can remember. Anyway, 2 nights before, bout 6pm, My bro was watching cartoon with my dad, i was surfing the net on the table there. Then.... there was this loud BANG from the TV and the whole room went black out. The bang was really LOUD! but, it sounded more like a POP, it was like... as if someone popped the party popper just right beside your ear. But it sounded like a bang too at some point... or maybe it was bang-ish pop.... AH i cant recall really, it happened in 1/12325434545 second!

Then, my dad went outside the house and fix something then the lights came back. Look what we spotted at the electric outlet for the TV.
Hey, physics ppl are... the burnt part is earth or neutral or live??? Wait i remembered live is the top one.. i think its earth right??Right?? RIght? RIGht? RIGHt?? RIGHT????????????????

As you guys can see from above... the plastic melted~~ and cracked... it could have cause a fire.. Thank god man. And another relief is that the TV still can be operated after the damage when it was fixed the next day. Or i would not be able to slump on the sofa, click the remote with my hand and enjoy astro my last week as an umemployed, care-free piggish adult.

1:14 PM

One late night, it was midnight, to be exact. Before i went to sleep, i thought bout my coming new university life. How life changes, how i was a secondary students, then a college student.. and i am going to be an Uni grl soon!!! WooT!

then, i really really miss my life in CHMS! I came up with an idea to have a reunion before i leave, and the attire code is CHMS uniform! I thought it would be really cool. But, since i've been such a trouble for getting my license, i decided not to ask my parents for a party. I'll be back in December anyway, so there's no need for a huge farewell.

So to reminisce the old times... i opened my wardrobe.... and wore it.

Hahaha the uniforms still fit me! *ok, i admit the skirt was bit tighter than it used to be.*
and why cant the skirt be shorter?? Man, cant i grow just a tiny bit taller?? just 4cm more to reach 170cm mah....-_-

Owh, do you guys know my old school CHMS, has apparently became one of the tourist attraction of Brunei recently?? Thanks to Wuchun:P

Hm... i dunno why i cudnt embed the video here. so have a look at it yourself, by clicking the ul below. thanks

12:06 AM

I had my driving license, but i do not feel the euphoria and the sense of achievement. The troubles of obtaining my license costed too much, too much to bear.I didnt enjoy much of the process.

I am no longer a holder of Brunei IC anymore, hence i coulndt obtain a Brunei license. I had to get of a car ride for an hour and a half to the nearest Malaysia town, Limbang for my license. My eldest sister, who is currently staying in Limbang with her husband and in-laws, and my father had to drive me here and there during the long course of time.
my father: For 3 mornings,He had to wake up as early as 6 in the morning to drive me to attend my courses or tests which commenced at 8am. He also drove me to Limbang on this Monday morning, drove back to Brunei, and returned to Limbang to fetch me back home the very next afternoon.
My mother: She payed for my fees. which somehow, it costed so much.
My Eldest sister: She is currently living in Limbang with her husband and her in-laws. She had been an agent for me communicating with the Raod transport department, arranging my schedules, sent me here and there while i was in Limbang. She was my illegal driving lecturer whenever there was time. Though, she is heavily pregnant, she took the risks and guided me through the roller coaster ride of her car with me as a driver.
My brother-in-law and his family: i've been staying at their house for average 3-5 nights everytime i came. They graciously shared their food, their space, their water and electricity, thier daughter shared her bed, room, and bathroom with me.
I had troubled so many people for a stupid license. i felt bad enough everytime i came to Limbang, and my sister kept reminding me all the troubles i've caused, how much money i had burnt, how much petrol i had wasted, how much others' time i had troubled. Maybe she doesnt think im aware of it. But she probably has no idea how much tears i shed for what a bruden i've been to everyone, how my heart contracted with pain at her reminders. I dont blame her, although i wont deny i constantly wish she would stop repeating the words.
I am very ashamed of myself. Im so sorry everyone, and thank you all for ur efforts.

2:23 PM

Last night, there was a Mooncake festival celebration at the Hokkien Association. Since my uncle is the chairman of the association, we arrived to support the event. Unexpetedly, I had alot of fun. There was a children colouring competition, which took place before the official opening of the event. The competition was further catergorised under 3-5yr old, and 6-10yr old.

So my brother Jiunn, and cousin Cheng and Joey joined the 3-5 yr old catergory.
I also have 2 older cousins in the older catergory, cousin Sean and Jiaying hiding from my camera.
Cousin Joey loves green, hence she coloured everything in different shadesof green. She was done after 10 mins, she was the first one to finish.
Then after all the kids were done, the official opening of the ceremony commenced. We were all treated to a buffet dinner. After buffet, we started Game number 1: Guessing Riddle 猜灯谜, which is a popular pasttime Chinese do during the Mooncake festival. There were 10 questions, and B$10 is given for each question answered correctly. The questions were printed on papers and hanged underneath decorative lanterns earlier, hence we had time to think. When the host repeated the questions and giving clues, we rocketed from our seats and shouting the answers KIASU-LY. My sister surfed the internet for answers with her mobile. SH......We love technology. So out of B$100 given, we received $40!

The next game was Puzzle. My cousin Jiaying and I signed up, thinking we were going to do jigsaw puzzle. My Aunt Bee also signed up with her son Cousin Brian. They were in GroupA and we were in Group B. There were 2 teams per group, and the winner of each group had to compete againsh each other again. Surprisingly, it wasnt as easy as jigsaw puzle.
My aunt and cousin won in Team A.

We had to rearrange the pictures in 3x4 boxes. Each box had 2 diff pictures printed on it and boxes from 2 teams were mixed up purposely to conuse us, so one person had to find the correct box with the assigned picture, and the other arrange the boxes. Dun i look hot in pink heels? I spent a pretty long time arranging the boxes, but i could never get it right. Then, i stopped and studied the other team's picture. Hey!!! Those boxes supposed to be mine! The uncle of the other team was also studying my picture. Before i could think, I grabbed 4 boxes from the other team and stole them over to my table. The crowd went crazy and cheered for my action. I regreted actually, hahaha, like it was so rude of me. It was a game, and i couldnt control my competitiveness. I even heard a lady shouting to disqualify me. But the game host ( coincidentally, was my uncle) defended me and said i didnt cross the rules. I won for team B anyway.

video

So it was relative against relative!! I won anyway:)Th next copetition was the mooncake eating compeition! My sister, and my twin aunties, Bee and Hwa took part. At the last minute, the committee made my uncle joined too. OMG, my uncle Philip? He's always crazy for food and eat like a vaccuum!!!

video

My uncle won the first prize. The 2nd and 3rd went to other guys. My aunts were pretty closed, too bad they had problem opening the packets, which costed them sometime. They committed they will practise opening packets and be prepared for next yr's competition. That's what i call TWIN SPIRIT!

The next game was for the kids of all ages. They had to learn a few poses.

1. Superman
2. Ultraman
3.Spiderman 4. Batman.

The host shouted out one of the poses and the kids had to pose to the respective Superhero names correctly and quickly. They were slowly eliminated if one make a mistake. My brother and Cousin Cheng couldnt stop laughing during the game. They lost of coz. video

At the end of the day, My Cousin Jiaying and I won B$20 each for the Puzzle. And my Aunt Bee and Brian each won B$ 10 at 2nd place. So our family swallowed B$ 60 for Puzzle catergory.

None of our representatives won for the colouring contest. But all contestants were given prize. The prizes were really good. so B$ 40 from the riddle, B$ 60 from the Puzzle, and B$ 30 from my uncle for the Mooncake eating Competition. We have B$130! We shall celebrate with a Sungkai buffet!! Yummy!

4:51 PM

Hello everybody, I'm losing ideas and inspirations for blogging. Sigh.
I came across with the pictures we took in China when i went there with my family in December 2007. So i shall share with y'all.

22 December 2007.
Brunei Airport. Took off at 8pm.

While waiting to board.

23 December 2007.

Arrived at Shanghai airport at midnight. Check in Hotel No. 1

At Shanghai Airport.Fascinating features on the ceiling of the airport.Actually, we went on a tour. So the tourguide brought us to 世纪矿场(shi ji guang chang), an area where Shanghainese shop.My brother looked like a spaceman.
This area is pretty special because one part is made up of old buildings from the early Shanghai. Then, there are newer buildings too. There are rocks lining to make a distinct path for cars to pass. My sister pretended to kick the rock. Could this be the biggest Coca-cola on earth??
Then, we went on a 2-storeys boat on the Huangpu river黄浦江, which flows between the most developed zone of Shanghai.
My dad bored-ing with a stranger.Weird architecturial features. i still have no idea what those cones are for.
Me, trying to get hold of the Oriental Pearl Tower东方明珠电视塔 of height 468m.
My bro, trying to pose the same.
My bro, still trying to hold the tower...

I was trying to poke the globe.
I like this view. The Oriental Pearl Tower东方明珠电视塔 with the Twin Globes. Old Shanghai. The part of the city where all the buildings were built during the Shanghai's golden age in the 1930s There is a bar at the first floor.
We had lunch at a huge restaurant. It is soooo huge that the waitresses and waiters rollerskate to serve. I didnt take picture of them. Look at the menu! No more menu in a booklet!
Those white thingies are pigeon eggs.

After lunch, we took a bus ride to another province SuZhou(苏州) We were brought by the tourguide to visit 狮子林, "The Lion Forest Garden". Basically, it is an exquisite 600yr old garden, beautiully decorated with artificial mountains which were made by the Lake Tai limestone(太湖石) ingeniously piled up in layers to form peaks and sculptures. Many of them resembling lions with differentand striking poses, hence the name. The heavy stones were extracted, transported ad craved by manpower.
Some of the buildings inside serve as musuem, so visitors can observe and study the interior design and furnitures of ancient Chinese houses. The hall facing the main entrance, which is at the other side of the wall with green paintings in this picture, was reserved only for the Master of the house and his male visitors. This picture shows the hall where only the females stay. Here, me and the stone sculptures. You can spot many lion resembles crafted on them when you're there, but unfortunately not in this picture. According to the tourguide, ancient people had very little for entertainment, so they made this maze out of stone, so they had fun exploring the maze. It is really cool. You can really get lost in the maze without a proper tourguide. We were allowed to explore on our own, but none of us dared to go too deep.

According to the tourguide, Qing Emperor Qianlong (Hongli)乾隆皇 visited it several times. He went in to the maze alone in the morning and could only find his way out in the afternoon. He came out and quoted "真趣!" "Interesting!"Hence, he made this "sign board" thingy with his handwriting imprinted on it.
My sister and I. We were lost can you tell?
This rock sculpture has 9 lions resembles crafted on it. you have to use your imagination, and up close, you can really see the lions. A cute chubby China baby.

Mistletoes.

One thing i like bout Chinese architecture is that they have this frame (shown in bottom picture) which surrounds an open window viewng a beautiful garden. So while you're sitting inside sipping tea, you can feel the breeze from the open window while looking at the mesmerizing scenery that looks just like a beautiful moving live picture in a frame.Checked in hotel number 2. The hotel we stayed at SuZhou provides more than just condoms, they have lubricants and vibrator? See the motto there at the left edge of the picture? "Feel better than wearing nothing" Most of the hotels in China provide condom, some are free, some are not. I remembered travelling to Nanning, China with my friends sponsored by the school to perform there. Me and my roommate had fun opening an apple scented condom, and feeling its sticky texture. We threw the condom away after much observation. Correction, i think i was the only one that had fun. My room mate wa pretty much disgusted i guess:P This is the end of my first day of China trip. I went for 9 days! So i dun have to worry when i ran out of ideas for blogging for the moment. Yay.
